Position overview

allnex invites you to join our team as a Technical Service Manager today! In this role, you will support and grow allnex's coating resins business in Korea by providing technical leadership and customer-focused solutions across a broad range of coating technologies. While the initial focus of this role will be on supporting the Radcure business, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a broader allnex technology portfolio as the business continues to grow.

 

This position will also play a key role in establishing and operating a local technical laboratory and helping to build allnex's long-term technical capabilities in Korea. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for supporting customers, driving innovation, and enabling business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers and distributors to drive business growth, strengthen customer relationships, and support new business opportunities.
  • Conduct formulation development, application testing, product evaluations, and technical troubleshooting to support customer projects and commercial initiatives.
  • Establish, operate, and continuously improve the local technical laboratory, including laboratory equipment, testing methods, safety practices, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, and R&D teams to identify customer needs, develop technical solutions, and support strategic business objectives.
  • Partner with regional and global technical teams to share knowledge, transfer technologies, and implement best practices.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical seminars, and sales activities to promote allnex technologies and strengthen the company's technical reputation in the market.

Required skills and experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Technical Service, Product Development, Formulation Development, Application Development, or R&D within the coatings, coating resins, inks, adhesives, or specialty chemicals industries.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
    • Radiation-curable (UV/EB) materials and formulations
    • Automotive coatings
    • Marine and protective coatings
    • Industrial coatings
    • Packaging inks and coatings
    • Related coating resin technologies
  • Experience with a coating resin manufacturer, specialty chemicals supplier, raw material producer, or formulation company is highly preferred.
  • Laboratory management experience, including equipment, test methods, safety practices, and technical project coordination, is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with customers and cross-functional international teams.
  • Able to converse in English and Korean
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience.
