Position overview

Join our team as an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician and take charge of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced electrical and instrumentation systems. You’ll work with cutting-edge technology—from flow meters to wireless systems—ensuring top performance and reliability across our plant. This role involves interpreting complex schematics, working with control systems like DCS and PLCs, and driving continuous improvement in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, Repair & Maintain: Take charge of installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a range of instrumentation and electrical systems, including advanced control devices and actuators.
  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose: Dive into investigative work with state-of-the-art sensors and wireless technology, identifying and solving malfunctions in critical instruments like flow meters, temperature and pressure sensors, and communication interfaces.
  • Inspect & Test: Use precision instruments and the latest electronic testing tools to diagnose, calibrate, and fine-tune wireless and hardwired systems, ensuring peak performance.
  • Read & Interpret Documentation: Navigate electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs, turning complex data into actionable insights for enhanced troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Wireless & Control Systems: Be at the cutting edge, working with wireless technology and control systems including DCS, PLC programming, and human-machine interfaces—essential for a truly connected plant.
  • Learn & Innovate: Quickly learn and integrate new technologies and methods, staying up to date with advancements in wireless and automated systems to bring continual improvement to our processes.
  • Safety & Communication: Commit to a culture of safety, working closely with team members across the plant to ensure the highest standards in operation and communication.
  • Basic Process Control: Instrument Loop Tuning.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in instrumentation/electrical maintenance, or Journeyman Certificate, or an Associate Degree in I&E Technology, or other technological based background/experience, or other applicable technological based background/experience. 
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with an eagerness to adapt to new technologies and wireless systems.
  • Fluent English is required. 

Qualifications

  • High School graduate / GED.
  • ISA (International Society of Automation) certification or accredited program preferred.
