Internship Details
- Project Duration: Up to 12 weeks - May to August.
- Compensation: Between $20 to $24/hr - depending on education year & experience.
- Hours/Week: Up to 40 hours.
Position overview
Are you a student looking for an exciting internship opportunity to kick start your career in a global leading chemical company? We are looking for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team. As a Safety, Health and Environment Intern you will be a part of our team, working to provide assistance and support in the day-to-day tasks as well as gain insights and understanding of the full cycle of our safety process.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting monthly trainings.
- Conduct noise monitoring and other misc. industrial hygiene activities.
- Assist in conducting respirators fit tests.
- Environmental sampling for production intermediates.
- Assist in contractor safety program management.
- Conduct audits and surveys as directed by SHE staff.
- Research and purchase SHE related items.
- Statistical analysis of data.
Qualifications
- Currently working on a degree in the engineering, science (biology/chemistry preferred) or safety field.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting up to ten lbs
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree
- Contact with water or other liquids; or exposure to non-weather related humid conditions
- Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary
- Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding, operating analytical instrumentation and other repetitive tasks.
