Position overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Production Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our production and inventory data by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining information across multiple systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align physical operations with system data, identify discrepancies, and support continuous improvements. If you enjoy working with data, solving problems, and contributing to operational excellence, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact and grow your career.

Responsibilities

  • Own and ensure the accuracy of ERP production transactions (SAP or equivalent) by executing all production postings, inventory movements, and adjustments in a timely and accurate manner to maintain system integrity.
  • Drive compliance with production accounting processes by validating batch data, reviewing completed batch tickets, and resolving discrepancies before system entry.
  • Manage production data flow by collecting and transferring batch sheets, logs, and operational data into business systems, ensuring alignment between physical operations and SAP records.
  • Perform variance analysis and reconciliation of process orders and material usage versus standards; recommend and implement BOM and routing updates to improve accuracy and cost control.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and visibility through cycle counts, variance investigations, adjustments, and by leading coordination of physical inventory activities.
  • Monitor production order execution by reviewing daily status versus schedule, ensuring all orders are properly confirmed, closed, and aligned across SAP and shop floor documentation.
  • Analyze and report operational performance metrics, including distillate recovery balances and KPI updates, to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support cross-functional operations and compliance by maintaining manifests and production records, ensuring readiness for quality release and shipment, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred), specifically in production transactions, inventory management, or process order execution.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Exposure to production accounting, inventory reconciliation, or material variance analysis is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or at least two years of college coursework preferred.
