Production Operator

Position overview

allnex is seeking a hands-on Production Operator to join our leading Gelcoat manufacturing team in Wacol, Brisbane. In this role, you will support the chemical blending operation for the safe manufacture or high-performance coatings used across maritime, aquatic and industrial applications through blending, packing, and material handling activities.

Day to day, you’ll be involved in preparing blends to recipe specifications, operating production and packing equipment, conducting quality checks and supporting efficient plant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate blending vessels, mixers, and associated plant equipment to manufacture gelcoat and related products.
• Weigh, charge, and mix raw materials in accordance with batch instructions.
• Perform packing operations, including filling, labelling, and palletising finished goods.
• Operate forklifts to handle raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Conduct routine in-process checks and assist with quality control testing.
• Complete batch documentation, production logs, and system entries accurately.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure a clean, organised work area.
• Follow all safety procedures, including handling of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods.
• Work effectively within a small team environment while working independently when required.

Required skills and experience

Essential Skills

• Valid forklift licence (LF).
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 20kg.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and proactive work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and reasonable overtime when required.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in the chemical manufacturing, blending, coatings or similar industries.
• Familiarity with batch manufacturing or production systems.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods handling and storage requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
