Position overview

Do you have strong experience to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures? allnex is welcoming you to join our dynamic Finance team as a Finance Controller for Japan/Korea and ideally based at one of the location in Japan, China or Malaysia. In this role, you will play a key role in achieving the Company’s financial objectives and managing all financial & tax activities of Japan and Korea. You are also require to ensure the complete and accurate management books are maintained, tax compliance is fully observed and satisfactory external audit opinions are received when needed. 


You will be collaborating with the broader finance community to provide effective and seamless business partnering to key internal customers through margin/cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX & working capital management and supporting decision making process.

  • Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting , including IAS 12 tax accounting on the applicable GAAP (IFRS).
  • Ensure the entities under his/her responsibility meet its fiscal and statutory and tax filing as per local requirement and deadlines.
  • Responsible for ensuring a detailed cash forecast in place to cover next 30 days to ensure all short term cash requirements are known, and a more high level rolling 12 month cash forecast.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place.
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement and eliminate administrative non value added tasks.
  • Provide clear communication & analysis on cost trends in the country.
  • Work with the country/regional business teams and analysis group to ensure that all business opportunities are properly evaluated. 
  • Work closely with the Corporate Treasury and Tax group to have full compliance with group/local tax rules and regulations, treasury strategy and guidelines.
  • Work with group IT/IS team to develop and maintain efficient financial & ERP systems and ensuring consistency with global procedures & reporting.
  • Provide an independent and impartial approach in advising management on financial issues.
  • Develop and administer cost effective and consistent accounting functions within the country.
  • Develop a highly skilled, motivated and efficient team including supervision of direct staff and overall functional responsibility for GBS transactional roles for the country.
  • Oversight of company secretary activities and supporting Asia Pacific Legal Counsel in managing relevant local compliance/activities (only if candidate is based in Japan).

Required skills and experience

  • 5 - 10 years experience with finance background and experience/knowledge in applicable GAAP (IFRS, JP GAAP and KR GAAP).
  • Solid grasp of IFRS with detailed knowledge of standards.
  • Good knowledge of tax, FX and other regulations.
  • Experience in SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Japanese, English; Mandarin is added advantage.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and business partnering skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Envisions, implements and champions new and unique improvements.


  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
