Position overview
allnex is looking for a Laboratory Chemist to join our team in Thailand! This role will play a key role in supporting the development and growth of the Additives business through hands-on synthesis and laboratory testing. Based fully in the lab, this role involves working closely with R&D and Application teams to deliver high-quality samples, support customer projects across APAC, and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct synthesis and laboratory testing to support the growth and development of the Additives business, particularly for customers in the APAC region.
- Lead and support additives projects in collaboration with internal teams to meet business objectives in Thailand and across APAC.
- Work closely with the Application Labs for both Additives and Coating Resins to align with regional business goals.
- Participate in R&D initiatives to develop new additive products.
- Perform hands-on lab work, with 100% of responsibilities based in the laboratory.
- Synthesize additive samples and conduct testing in accordance with established methods and quality standards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities to ensure operational readiness and compliance with SHE, OSHA, quality, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with the Senior Synthesis Chemist and coordinate with colleagues and cross-functional departments to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Uphold safety standards and contribute to a zero-incident laboratory environment.
Required skills and experience
- Up to 3 years of experience working in a chemical laboratory
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and routine maintenance, including adherence to safety protocols within a chemistry lab environment.
- Good observation skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Capable of presenting findings and ideas clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
