Position overview

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a Trade Compliance Lead EMEA to join our Global Trade Compliance team. You will work with all the regional stakeholders and act as key regional point of contact for them on inquiries regarding the import, export, or transfer of goods or services and trade regulatory. The Trade Compliance Lead EMEA will be accountable for trade compliance ensuring activities are executed across business and functions efficiently in the region, interpret relevant customs, regulatory trade and excise regulations and report into the Global Trade compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trade compliance guidance to allnex business function, including support for government audits, general advisory and facilitating issue resolution as well as conducting audits and follow-up on action plan.
  • Highlight and recognize best practices, and develop strategies to expand their use within organization.
  • Conduct internal audits and follow-up on action plans.
  • Manage data governance and integrity with regard to customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, valuation, and reporting of customs procedures.
  • Define guidelines and deploy them.
  • Develop and maintain an effective regional training program to improve trade compliance competency in local sites. Deliver presentations to increase awareness within the organization.
  • Software implementation enablement and other automation functionalities.
  • Oversee origin and trade preference process: monitor the issuance of suppliers and customers declarations and make sure all necessary conditions are fulfilled.
  • Assist with assessing and maintaining allnex compliance with import/export regulations, trade regulatory and other legislation requirements.
  • Lead Trade Compliance plans, key initiative and standards in region. Develop strategies and engage regional/country leadership to align with the objectives of the global initiative.
     

Required skills and experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in a multinational or big 4 company with customs legislation and procedures, HS classification, rules of origin, customs valuation rules, export regulations and foreign trade agreements.
  • Higher education, preferably in law, finance, logistics or other appropriate for the role.
  • Knowledge on SAP, MS-Office e.g. excel and IT systems would be considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in English both written and spoken, local language is an advantage.
  • Team player with customer focus attitude, adaptability and process oriented mind-set.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities and deliver results while working under pressure.
  • Analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to travel as it could be required by role responsibilities.
