Position overview

We are seeking a proactive Warehouse Lead to oversee daily operations related to outbound goods. This role ensures the safe and efficient handling, preparation, transfer, storage, reservation, and accurate inventory control through SAP. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service performance while maintaining compliance with SHE and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Goods Preparation, Loading, and Unloading:
    • Supervise the safe preparation, loading, unloading, and storage of goods, including finished goods, trading goods, and samples.
    • Inspect materials, trucks, and drivers for safety compliance before shipping.
    • Collaborate with Import/Export, Customer Service, and Planning teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Train the team on logistics procedures and customer service expectations.
    • Plan optimised transportation routes and maximise truck/container payloads.
    • Prepare and manage shipping documents for local and international deliveries, including hazardous materials.
  • Warehouse and Inventory Control:
    • Oversee third-party warehouse and transport operations, ensuring adherence to FEFO (First Expire, First Out) principles.
    • Ensure proper handling, labelling, and storage of chemicals, especially hazardous goods, following safety and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure non-conforming materials are segregated and managed.
  • Safety and Equipment Maintenance:
    • Minimise incidents by implementing preventive measures and reporting all safety issues.
    • Provide first aid for chemical and fire incidents and ensure familiarity with safety procedures (e.g., SDS).
    • Track and maintain warehouse equipment using SAP.

Required skills and experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Good command of English, with the ability to understand SDS, shipping documents, and labels written in English
  • Strong knowledge of SAP for inventory management and logistics operations.
  • In-depth understanding of SHE and regulatory compliance for chemical handling and hazardous goods.
  • Analytical thinking for route optimisation and payload management.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation and labelling standards compliance.
     

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
  • Certification or experience in complying with dangerous goods regulations and hazardous materials storage
  • Forklift license
