Position overview

At our Process Safety Laboratory in allnex, you’ll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous learning, and real-world impact. Join our Process Safety Laboratory (PSL) team in Rayong, Thailand — a dynamic hub where science, innovation, and safety intersect! As a Process Safety Laboratory Engineer, you’ll play a key role in assessing chemical and process risks that help shape safer manufacturing practices across our operations.

In this role, you’ll bring your engineering expertise to life through hands-on laboratory experiments, insightful data analysis, and meaningful collaboration with cross-functional experts. You’ll transform lab findings into practical safety insights that directly impact how we design, operate, and improve our processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory experiments to assess thermal and process safety hazards under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate advanced laboratory instruments to ensure precision and reliability in test results.
  • Perform engineering calculations for emergency relief venting, fire exposure, and thermodynamic analyses using recognized standards (DIERS, NFPA 30, API 520).
  • Investigate runaway reaction scenarios, deviations, and potential process risks.
  • Analyze and interpret test data to prepare clear, concise, and insightful technical reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), incident reviews, and worst-case scenario studies by providing high-quality experimental data.
  • Maintain laboratory databases, SOPs, and safety documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, SHE, and R&D teams to drive continuous improvements in process safety.
  • Stay up to date with industry safety standards, contribute to internal best practices, and identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency, sustainability, and data quality.

Required skills and experience

  • 1–5 years of experience in process safety, chemical safety, or a laboratory-based engineering environment.
  • Solid understanding of process safety concepts and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Familiarity with emergency relief system design methodologies (DIERS, NFPA 30, API 520) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills in physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and data interpretation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to lab safety and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to translate technical results into clear and actionable insights.
  • Good command in English and local language. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minor or certification in Chemical Process Safety will be considered a strong advantage.
