Position overview

Allnex, the global industrial coating resins, crosslinkers and additives company, has substantial manufacturing, R&D and sales activities in the USA, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. The USA is our largest market and operating unit. This senior role is based at our Atlanta regional headquarters and part of the allnex global tax team, reporting to the Allnex Global Tax Director based in Brussels, Belgium. We are looking to recruit an experienced, energetic and results oriented informal tax leader and team player with a strong awareness of global dependencies.



  • Identification, analysis and management of tax risks and opportunities;
  • Monitoring and support of the income tax compliance processes performed by the regional finance team in conjunction with the global processes and support environment;
  • Support to the allnex Tax Controller and the Regional Finance team with respect to the IAS 12 tax reporting process (including OTP second level review and sign-off); partnering with the allnex transfer pricing and providing leadership regional indirect tax team;
  • Monitoring, support and where appropriate, management of material tax audits and litigation;
  • Tax planning and transactions;
  • Management of external tax planning and compliance advisors;
  • The Americas region presently encompasses the US, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. allnex is focused on aggressive growth, hence the footprint is likely to be expanded in future acquisitions and business development efforts. The establishment of a strong partnership with the regional business and other functions is critical, The emphasis being on the tax group providing effective towards business solutions  and ensuring the relevant structure to ensure the necessary fiscal execution and compliance.

Required skills and experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the US federal and state income tax provisions, including nexus. Strong exposure to IAS12 accounting standard and the US sales and property tax rules. Familiarity with global transfer pricing-related developments;
  • Exposure to Brazilian and/or Mexican tax laws would be an asset;
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team, and mentor and develop the company in the area of tax compliance, reporting, and audit management;
  • Strong business orientation and proven track record as an effective tax advocate and business partner;
  • Excellent leadership, influencing & project management skills;
  • Excellent collaborative problem solving & decision making skills;
  • Analytical approach coupled with a strong attention to detail and impact analysis;
  • Excellent internal & external communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse organization;
  • Ability to think strategically, agree priorities, develop tax project plans, and manage their implementation;
  • Detailed oriented, self-motivated and organized; able to deliver results independently yet in team alignment in a high growth, fast-paced, multi-facility environment;
  • Willingness to operate on a flexible schedule.


  • Degree in Accounting or law.
  • CPA/MBA/MS preferred.
  • At least 5-10 years tax experience, preferably in an in-house role with international exposure.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills and knowledge of financial/tax modeling.
