Position overview
allnex is on the lookout for a Tax Manager and this is a rare opportunity to shape and lead the Asia Pacific tax agenda for a global organization operating across multiple, diverse jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Group Treasury and Tax Director and working as a key member of the global tax leadership team, this role will lead regional tax management activities across both direct and indirect taxes. As a Tax Manager APAC, your role combines technical excellence, strategic advisory and strong stakeholder partnership, supporting business decision-making while ensuring robust governance and compliance.
You will play a pivotal role in navigating an increasingly complex tax landscape including Global Minimum Tax (GMT) while contributing to broader transformation initiatives that enhance the effectiveness, scalability, and future readiness of the regional tax function.
Responsibilities
- Tax Reporting & Forecasting
- Lead the full IAS 12 tax reporting and income tax forecasting cycles for all entities in Greater Asia, including second‑level OTP review and final sign‑off.
- Ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of all tax-related submissions in alignment with corporate standards.
- Tax Compliance & Governance
- Oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance processes (including VAT) across the region, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to local regulations.
- Drive readiness for Global Minimum Tax (GMT) requirements by monitoring, tracking, and supporting implementation initiatives.
- Audit Management & Tax Risk
- Provide leadership across all significant tax audits and litigation matters, ensuring robust risk mitigation and strategic case management.
- Implement and champion a proactive tax audit preparedness program to strengthen compliance and reduce exposure.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage tax risks while developing and delivering proactive training programs to enhance tax awareness and operational readiness across the business.
- Transfer Pricing Collaboration
- Serve as the regional point of contact for all Transfer Pricing matters, working closely with the global Transfer Pricing leader to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Strategic Advisory & Business Support
- Partner with finance and business leaders to provide tax insights, planning support, and guidance on transactional and structural initiatives across Asia.
- Contribute tax expertise to major transformation efforts, including the development of regional centers of competence and footprint rationalization projects.
- External Advisor Management
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring high-quality deliverables delivered on time and within approved budgets.
- Evaluate advisor performance and drive value for money.
Required skills and experience
- 10-15 years of progressive tax experience, ideally in an in-house or multinational role with international exposure.
- In-depth knowledge of income tax and GST/VAT across key Asian jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of IAS 12 and OECD Transfer Pricing principles.
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong tax/financial modelling capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and informal leadership skills across cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to support, guide, or mentor finance teams in tax compliance matters.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to assess impacts and prioritize effectively.
- Strategic thinker who can translate priorities into actionable plans.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams in APAC.
- Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, MBA, MS in Taxation, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
