Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) Associate

Position overview

allnex is looking for a Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) Associate join our PSRA team in Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that allnex products comply with regulatory requirements across Australia, while providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders and customers on regulatory matters. This is a one-year fixed-term contract position.

You will play a key role in assessing products, managing new substance notifications, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting the implementation of new regulations. Working closely with regional and global regulatory teams, Australian colleagues (Logistics, Sales, Procurement) and R&D chemists, you will help safeguard compliance while enabling business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Product Assessment
  
  • Conduct regulatory assessments to support product marketing and business decisions across Australia.
  • Prepare and coordinate new substance notifications, inventory update notifications, and exemption permit applications in accordance with local chemical control regulations.
  • Support new product development projects by advising R&D teams on regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Participate in regulatory hold processes, providing recommendations on the release or restriction of products to ensure compliance.
• Regulatory Advice & Stakeholder Support
  
  • Serve as the key regulatory contact for internal stakeholders across multiple business lines.
  • Provide accurate advice on regulatory requirements, compliance costs, timelines, and risks.
  • Respond to internal and external customer enquiries related to product regulatory compliance, chemical regulations, and health and safety matters.
  • Liaise with state and national regulatory authorities when required and authorised.
• Compliance Monitoring & Documentation
  
  • Maintain and update regulatory databases to ensure compliance information remains accurate and current.
  • Support reporting, record-keeping, and substance tracking requirements under relevant chemical control regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Hazard Communication & Regulatory Projects
  
  • Collaborate with the Global Hazard Communication (HazCom) team to ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), labels, and other hazard communication documents comply with local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes to chemical regulations and proactively assess their impact on the business.
  • Represent allnex in industry trade and professional associations on regulatory matters when needed.

Required skills and experience

• Hand-on experience in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, compliance, or a related field.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for chemical products.
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry, chemical manufacturing processes, or related applications is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficient in written and spoken English; additional Asian language proficiency is an advantage.
• Proactive, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement.
• Proficient in MS Teams; hands-on experience in BI, SAP, etc., are advantageous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry; Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines will also be considered with relevant industry experience.
