Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organization in the world leading industrial coating resins company? allnex invites you to join our dynamic team as a FP&A Analyst either in Petaling Jaya, Seremban or Melaka, Malaysia and contribute to our region's financial success! As a talented FP&A Analyst, you will conduct market analyses, analyzing both product lines and the overall profitability of the business. You will also develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met. In this role, you will be a member of the Australia Oceania (AO) team and support the ‘VP Commercial SEAO’ and the local AO team in achieving growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key financial contact for Australia and Oceania (AO).
  • Support and analyze monthly business unit closings, pay close attention to sales, cost of products sold, and departmental spending.
  • Ensure adequate compensating controls are in place for internal control and audit purposes in areas such as rebate accruals, inventory write-offs for SMOG/LCM, product claims, and so on.
  • Challenge entities to address inconsistencies in their business performance.
  • Review and consolidate data of the monthly results.
  • Prepare quarterly business unit financial forecasts.
  • Monitor sales and profitability performance by business units, product, customer and location/region.
  • Support the business PLAN, STRAP, budget and forecast process.
  • Provide analysis support to cross functional team.
  • Be involved in all Ad Hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the FP&A team by taking on coordination tasks for global exercises as needed.
  • Support the AO region by acting as a financial business partner to local business teams and collaborating with other business analysts to react to general business inquiries.

Required skills and experience

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working within a financial business environment, including expertise in business analysis, financial analysis, and cost accounting.
  • Experience working in chemical manufacturing industry is an added advantage. 
  • Highly skilled in Excel, PowerPoint and other processing software programs.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g. PowerBI) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem solving mindset.
  • Strong system ERP knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Statistics, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Certified Chartered Accountant is a plus.
