Position overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join GBS Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for standard cost calculations, inventory control, and supporting monthly financial closing activities. You will work closely with Finance, Manufacturing, and Business teams to ensure accurate product costing and process integrity. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with ERP systems, and a solid understanding of cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities
- Perform monthly standard cost calculations and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Manufacturing, and Business Management to address standard costing matters.
- Manage ad-hoc product costing requests and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide Finance and Manufacturing teams with visibility into costing issues and discrepancies.
- Participate in month-end closing and reporting activities, ensuring completion in line with the financial closing calendar.
- Maintain and regularly review process documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee inventory control processes and follow up on tolling product activities.
Required skills and experience
- Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply
- Up to 3 years of relevant working experience as a Cost Accountant
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise effectively.
- Capable of working collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including advanced functions such as pivot tables).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
