Electrical Engineer

allnex is on the look out for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team in Mahad, India. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the site’s electrical systems, equipment, and utilities. The role leads maintenance activities, equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and statutory compliance while partnering closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement, technicians, and external vendors.

This role also drives continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, including equipment upgrades, energy optimization, and technical improvements, while ensuring operational readiness and a strong safety culture across the site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and AMC/CMC activities through designated vendors.
• Plan and execute day-to-day maintenance activities in close coordination with the Production and Engineering departments to ensure equipment reliability and operational continuity.
• Review energy utilization logbooks, monitor consumption trends, and maintain accurate records.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for equipment/system upgrades or replacement to improve energy efficiency and support sustainability requirements.
• Monitor and maintain technicians’ shift schedules to ensure adequate maintenance coverage.
• Monitor and maintain inventory requirements in close coordination with the Procurement team to ensure timely availability of critical spare parts and materials.
• Assist the Engineering department in preparing and finalizing technical specifications for engineering equipment, materials, and services.
• Plan and execute statutory and regulatory compliance activities in accordance with the established schedules for all applicable equipment and systems.
• Coordinate and monitor annual inspections and testing activities, including earth pit resistance testing, transformer insulation testing, and transformer oil filtration.
• Periodically inspect, verify, and test all standby systems to ensure readiness and operation within designated parameters.
• Monitor and maintain equipment and utility health records, assess equipment condition and reliability, and report findings and recommended actions to management.
• Conduct regular cross-functional training and knowledge-sharing sessions on equipment operation, maintenance practices, and safety requirements in accordance with the defined training calendar.

Required skills and experience

• 8 - 12 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a chemical or process manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical expertise in HT/LT electrical systems, IMCC, PCC, and MCC, with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead E/I and control engineering projects, working effectively across sites and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Self-driven and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Strong commitment to SHE standards and a safe working culture.
• Proven ability to lead, engage, and motivate technicians and maintenance teams.
• Good command of spoken and written English; local language proficiency is an advantage.
• Willingness to support after-hours activities and travel when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
