Position overview
Are you interested in generating and maintaining a detailed production plan for products that are used in goods all across the globe? We are looking for a service-oriented, self-directed and proactive Production Planner to join our team in a world-leading industrial coating resins company. You will be responsible for the entire production planning process at our Langley, South Carolina facility.
Responsibilities
- Follow regional stocking policies, ensuring alignment with current business rules and working with product managers and regional supply chain leadership to ensure alignment with overall business targets and objectives.
- Work with various site functional teams to generate and maintain the published production schedule.
- Control and execute distribution replenishment planning to third-party fulfillment warehouse(s).
- Optimize working capital by balancing inventory, service levels and cost.
- Ensure completion of transactional planning processes through materials resource planning.
- Identify, review, and implement regional inventory optimization opportunities while minimizing slow-moving inventory positions.
- Continually communicate with relevant stakeholders within the organization regarding product availability.
Required skills and experience
- 2 years of planning, supply chain, or manufacturing/industrial experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of various computer software packages, such as the Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Windows, as well as various other communication and data programs as required.
- Must be proficient in ERP material management modules (SAP preferred), production scheduling, inventory management, and forecasting interpretation.
- A strong and effective communicator, both written and verbally, interacting with various levels of management while exercising good judgment in resolving product availability conflicts and addressing customer requests.
- Continuous improvement mindset: demonstrates a learning approach towards continuous improvement. Analytical and critical thinking; a “pro-active” mindset is highly desirable.
- Strong time management and a “self-motivated” approach to work is necessary to succeed in this position.
- Fluent English (reading and writing) skill is required.
- The person is expected to be onsite: the facility is located in Langley, South Carolina.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
