QC Lab Technician

Position overview

Laboratory Technician is responsible for the testing of materials for quality control purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all laboratory tests according to written instructions, including existing/ newly introduced equipment
  • Perform mathematical calculations using supplied equations or spreadsheets.
  • Use ERP software for incoming material control, entering QC data, and generating COAs
  • Maintain housekeeping in Laboratory
  • Determine adjustments to correct for deviations of products, including any testing required for blending of rework/off-grade, etc.
  • Weigh-up quantities of raw materials for addition to processes
  • Maintain, identify need to order, and organize (store) laboratory supplies/inventory
  • Perform laboratory equipment calibration per documented procedures and maintain records of calibration as indicated.
  • Prepare daily shift reports and distribute via email
  • Determining corrections for out of range test results
  • Troubleshooting erroneous equipment results
  • Other operations as determined.
Required skills and experience
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed
  • Be able to multitask in a fast paced lab environment, providing accurate results
  • Strong MS Office experience, with a focus on MS Excel
  • Strong in math and chemistry
  • Able to work independently and not requiring constant direction
  • Ability to be flexible in work scheduling and variability in work activitie
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a chemistry or science related field is required
