Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is the world leading coating resins company? allnex is looking for Safety Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with government regulations on process safety and occupational safety, while adhering to allnex's SHE policies and standards at the Drogenbos site.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains safety procedures for process and occupational safety.
  • Engages with authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Actively participates in safety committee activities.
  • Fosters a safety and quality culture throughout the site.
  • Guides safety aspects for investments and improvements.
  • Manages regulatory documentation and safety reports: ATEX-related documentation.
  • Uses SHE tools for problem-solving and audits for compliance.
  • Process hazard analysis: HAZOP.

Required skills and experience

  • Master's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Chemistry, SHE etc.) or equivalent (bachelor’s degree) through experience.
  • 1-7 years in chemical manufacturing or equivalent industries (SEVESO environment).
  • Prevention advisor level 1 or level 2 (with willingness to obtain level 1 within a reasonable time frame)
  • ISO 14001 and ISO45001 certification experience and management processes.
  • Language skills : English (required), Dutch (good professional skills), French (asset)
  • Strong interest in chemical processes and Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE).
  • Valuable skills: interaction with auditors, familiarity with Process Safety Management, HAZOP studies, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Safety, Health, or Environmental field is required
  • Legal certificates : “Preventie-adviseur Niveau 1” and “Milieucoördinator A or B” (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable time frame)
  • ISO 14001 and ISO45001 certification experience and management processes
