Junior Synthesis Lab Technician

Position overview

Are you passionate about working in a laboratory environment for the synthesis of polymers and material characterization? We are looking for a Junior Synthesis Lab Technician that would execute syntheses of sustainable waterborne (radiation curable) polymer dispersions in the frame of development projects and manufacturing support. If you are an individual who thrives on making an impact in the coating business and wants to become a part of a dynamic team in a global company, we would like to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of synthesis recipes according to discussed guidelines. 
  • Execution of syntheses with in-process parameters control for several product families.
  • Autonomous work organization and priority setting within defined objectives & deadlines. 
  • Final product characterization according to specific test methods. 
  • Experimental design and data management reporting. 
  • Analysis requests and follow up. 
  • Writing & presentation of up-scaling reports with follow-up of pilot batches. 
  • Maintenance of lab synthesis equipment and work stations. 
  • Compliance with good laboratory practices and behavioral based safety. 
  • Stock control for raw materials and sampling requests for finished products. 
  • Adherence to quality, safety & environmental ISO procedures. 
  • Active participation to specific job-related internal and/or external meetings. 

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with preferred orientation in polymer science or industrial chemistry.
  • Creative personality with strong customer focus and structured mindset towards deliverables. 
  • Interest in working in a lab environment implying hands-on-the-job realizations and problem-solving. 
  • Multi-lingual practice (NL/FR/EN) with demonstrated team spirit and excellent communication skills.  
  • Strong dedication to safety and quality standards.
