Position overview

As an IT Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of shaping and sustaining a long-term technological vision and strategy across all IT Operations domains, including IT/OT Infrastructure & Cloud, Digital Workplace, Information Security, and Support Services.

You will collaborate closely with various product teams and project managers to translate strategic roadmaps into actionable projects, ensuring high-quality execution. Representing IT Operations within the Enterprise Architecture team, you will ensure alignment with EA initiatives, Enterprise Application, Data and AI roadmaps.

Your role will involve designing rightsized, cost-effective, scalable, and secure solutions, establishing and maintaining practical standards that support the effective implementation and management of IT Operations projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop vision & strategy for all IT key domains, aligned with corporate vision, well documented and maintained. 
  • Create, document and maintain architectures during the entire lifecycle: planning, building & running solutions. 
  • Define, document and maintain (technical) standards within the scope of IT Operations. 
  • Provide advisory, functional & non-functional requirements in projects, RFP’s, …
  • Act as a trusted advisor and design authority in IT projects and working with the different product teams. 
  • Coaches product teams with design thinking and architectural principles. 
  • Occasionally is involved in major incidents and problem management. 
  • Participate in EA governance, representing IT Operations and contributing to the successful execution of our EA roadmap. 

Required skills and experience

  • Experience in a similar role within a multinational, multicultural manufacturing environment.
  • Strong awareness of technological trends across key IT domains, including Infrastructure, Public Cloud, 
  • Networking, Workplace, and Information Security.
  • Familiarity with technologies and concepts such as Azure, Microsoft 365, IT/OT integration, Purdue/IEC 62443, LAN/WAN/SASE, Identity and Access Management (IDAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity (BC).
  • Ability to define and articulate clear visions and strategies across multiple technical domains.
  • Comfortable collaborating with technical experts while effectively communicating complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to engage hands-on with technical challenges while maintaining strategic oversight.
  • Skilled in creating abstract and visual representations such as designs, blueprints, and concise one-pagers.
  • Recognized authority in relevant areas of expertise, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical, creative thinker with a solution-oriented mindset and a no-nonsense approach.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in IT or equivalent proven experience.
  • Relevant industry certifications demonstrating methodological (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate) and/or technical expertise (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are considered an asset.
