Position overview

Are you interested to extend global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships in the world leading coating resins industry? As Technical Services & Business Development for the Packaging & Consumer Goods market segment, we are looking for someone who wants to be a valuable contributor and a member of a talented and dynamic team of technical specialists in the support of internal and external customers and the market.
In this position, he / she cooperates with customers, key accounts, distribution partners and industry  specialists to support and grow allnex’s position in the packaging & consumer goods market. While the primary focus is technical, this role also requires commercial acumen to develop new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to customers within packaging & consumer goods market segment and acts as the primary technical point of contact for customers, key accounts, distributors and agents.
  • Develops knowledge on customer and market needs to offer existing solutions or to bring new solutions ideas into the allnex innovation pipeline; Participates in building competitive intelligence with Marketing and Sales.
  • Provides expertise in market segment teams and participates in segment strategy.
  • Works collaboratively with lab resources related to customers, products and specific projects
  • Supports product launches including the development of starting point formulations and sales tools including brochures, technical bulletins, technical data sheets and the like.
  • Provides product or technical training internally or externally when necessary in his / her area of expertise
  • Represents allnex at conferences and industry events
  • Develops networks within allnex global technical communities to overcome issues, find solutions, and achieve objectives.

Required skills and experience

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in the chemical industry – preferred technologies or markets served: UV/EB curable technology, graphic arts, printing inks & OPV, 3D printing. Ideally complemented with commercial skills
  • Technical acumen with solid understanding of formulation and application techniques
  • Availability to travel - up to 30% travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science or related discipline.

  • Work Environment: Lab environment with some elements such as noise, dust, fumes, heat, safety hazards, etc. Requires inside and outside work and some exposure to weather conditions. Must be able to wear a respirator when required. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
