Position overview

Are you passionate about working with people in the pursuit of innovative and sustainable solutions to the complex challenges of today’s packaging & consumer goods markets? We are seeking an experienced technical expert for the role as Technical Services & Business Development for the Packaging & Consumer Goods market segment. In this role, we are looking for an ambitious professional who wants to be a valuable contributor and a member of a talented and dynamic team of technical specialists in the support of internal and external customers and the market.


In this position, you'll work together with customers, key accounts, distribution partners and industry  specialists to support and grow allnex’s position in the packaging & consumer goods market. While the primary focus is technical, this role also requires commercial acumen to develop new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides portfolio knowledge and technical support to customers within packaging & consumer goods market segment.
  • Acts as the technical expert for market of responsibility and collaborates with sales and marketing to develop knowledge on customer, business & market needs to feed allnex innovation pipeline and bring solutions to market.
  • Supports product launches and go-to-market strategies including the development of starting point formulations and sales tools including brochures, technical bulletins, technical data sheets and the like.
  • Represent the organization in forums and conferences within specific area of application expertise.
  • Develops networks within allnex global technical communities to overcome issues, find solutions, and achieve objectives.

Required skills and experience

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in the chemical industry – preferred technologies or markets served: Energy Curable (UV/EB curable) technology, graphic arts, flexible packaging, paper & board packaging, printing inks & OPV, 3D printing. Ideally complemented with commercial skills.
  • Technical acumen with solid understanding of formulation and application techniques.
  • Problem solver with customer focus mindset.
  • Good communicator – written and verbal – fluent in English (multi language is a plus).
  • Availability to travel - up to 30% travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science or related discipline.

Must be able to wear a respirator when required. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
