Position overview

The TS&BD Americas - Composites provides technical assistance to customers using allnex’s composite products and solutions. The main applications include gelcoats and UP resins for swimming pools, marine applications, sanitaryware, and transportation, and UV cure (RADCURE) resins for composites, including pressure vessels, pultrusion for strengthening rods, printing sleeves, and fiber-reinforced building materials. This job will be to provide technical support for RADCURE resins for composites. While the primary focus is technical, this role also requires commercial acumen to develop new business opportunities in the RADCURE composites market.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to customers in using RADCURE resins for composites.
  • Develops knowledge on customer’s needs and proposes solutions in the allnex’s range to meet those needs.
  • Brings in ideas for new product / solution development based on understanding of market and customer needs.
  • Works collaboratively with lab resources, analyzes results, and recommends courses of action based on available chemical and engineering information.
  • Interprets and communicates test results and project progress to cross-functional teams globally.
  • Participates in Stage Gate projects as a team leader or team member.
  • Assists and trains customers and distributors on product use and assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Develops networks within allnex global technical communities to overcome issues, find solutions, and achieve objectives.

Required skills and experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in a technical service position in the composites industry is required (focus on UV cured resins is preferred). Masters-degreed candidates with 5+ years’ experience will also be considered. 
  • Solid understanding in polymer physics and polymer chemistry; expertise in composite applications.
  • Availability to travel - Up to 50% travel may be required.
  • Commercially savvy, with demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities in the composite markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master (preferred) degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science or related discipline.
  • Fluency in English mandatory. Conversational in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
