Position overview
We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Sourcing Specialist at an early stage in their career who is eager to grow into a strategic sourcing role. This is an exciting opportunity to build strong foundations in procurement while working alongside experienced Sourcing Managers and gaining hands-on exposure to supplier negotiations, market dynamics, and contract management.
In this role, you will gradually take ownership of sourcing activities for key raw materials, contributing directly to business competitiveness. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and the Business Unit, helping to generate valuable insights on market trends, pricing, and supply risks while developing your ability to make sound commercial decisions.
This position manages an annual spend of approximately USD 10–20 million and is designed as a clear development pathway toward a Sourcing Manager role. If you are curious about how markets work, enjoy taking initiative, and are excited to learn in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies through Request For Proposal (RFP) and supplier negotiations, optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while ensuring security of supply.
- Build cost models and support negotiation preparation to drive informed commercial decisions.
- Monitor contract performance, pricing formulas, and savings delivery, while supporting or leading quarterly supplier performance reviews.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to implement sourcing decisions effectively.
- Deliver cost savings targets by applying sourcing strategies and TCO principles.
- Analyze market trends, feedstock dynamics, and supply-demand balances, providing regular insights and risk assessments to the team.
- Participate in supplier interactions, performance tracking, and business reviews, gradually taking ownership of selected suppliers and negotiations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (supply chain, manufacturing, and finance) to support forecasting, price variance analysis, and risk mitigation, including leading change management processes (MOC) for raw materials and new suppliers.
Required skills and experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience within direct procurement or supply chain.
- Experience with SAP and Ariba Sourcing is considered a strong plus.
- Understanding of chemical markets, key feedstocks, and value chains is desirable.
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing cost drivers and pricing mechanisms is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
- Strong analytical skills (advanced Excel or equivalent).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
