Position overview
Are you passionate about innovation in chemical synthesis and ready to make a real impact? We are seeking a talented chemist to join our team, where you’ll work hands-on in developing breakthrough resins and materials for coatings and beyond. Collaborate with experts to design and execute experiments, conduct rigorous analysis, and lead technical discussions that shape our advancements. Responsibilities
- Develop technical options to meet overall project goals in close collaboration with colleagues and achieve stage gate deliverable.
- Design and plan synthesis experiments.
- Discuss and demonstrate understanding of chemical intent.
- Safely carry out chemical synthesis under guidance in laboratory glass apparatus. Participate in and perform process hazard assessments.
- Closely monitor synthesis experiments, while keeping written recording of process steps and observations.
- Characterize synthesized resins by standard analytical methods and evaluate their performance in coatings and other applications.
- Summarize and reporting of results. Makes recommendations for next steps based on earlier findings.
- Participate in technical discussions with colleagues and supervisors, where experimental results need to be presented. Present results internally and externally.
Required skills and experience
- 3+ years technical experience in polymer chemistry and material characterizations.
- Hands-on experience of working in laboratory environment for synthesis and material characterization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in experimental execution, data analysis, record keeping, written reporting of results and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in analytical techniques of HPLC, GC and GPC, benchtop NMR and rheology is a plus.
- Fluent English is required.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry or related scientific fields (Material Science, Biochemistry, etc).
