Position overview
Join our dynamic Procurement team and gain hands-on experience in key areas of supply chain management! As a Procurement Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting various procurement functions. Your responsibilities will include setting up vendors, managing supplier corrective action reports, assisting with invoice discrepancies, generating reports, and developing price comparison models for Asian versus U.S.-based suppliers. You will also help manage railcar tracking, create a comprehensive packaging specifications database, and verify supplier ratings in our global database.
This role offers valuable exposure to the procurement process, allowing you to contribute to meaningful projects. If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding co-op experience, we’d love to have you on our team!
Responsibilities
- Completing vendor set-up process by requesting documentation from potential vendors and entering a service ticket into the system for approval.
- Entering supplier corrective action reports into database. Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies.
- Conducting various reports for the procurement team. Developing price comparison models against domestic and international suppliers.
- Railroad tracking management. Creating a packaging specification database.
- Verifying supplier ratings in global database. Sourcing suppliers for Indirect procurement categories.
- Assisting in the implementation of an on-site supplier. Administrative support for the Procurement team.
Required skills and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn SAP.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles is a plus.
- Fluent English is required.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or any related field.
