Application Chemist

Position overview

Do you passionate about working in laboratory environment for formulation preparation, material characterizations, coating application and comparative benchmarking? We are looking for an Application Chemist that gain in-depth understanding of our Crosslinker portfolio supplied by allnex, with regards to product performance and capabilities and its usage in coating applications. In this role, you will provide technical service to customers together with Sales & Marketing team. Responsibilities

•    Gain in-depth understanding of current crosslinker portfolio with regards to product performance and capabilities and its usage in those coating applications, that are currently supplied by allnex.
•    Provide technical service to customers together with Sales and Marketing teams, in direct communication either face-to-face, by phone or via Email.
•    Follow-up on specific technical questions and customer requests. This may include planning and executing of targeted lab testing or soliciting the help of experts within allnex or externally.
•    Deliver technical support to internal and external customers, fulfilling unmet needs by recommending existing products or creating new solutions as required.
•    Identify technology and market trends, working with the business, marketing & technology teams to create product development profiles which meet the future identified segment needs. 
•    Develop technical value propositions and lead technical product commercialization, assisting in the creation of technical data sheets, brochures and new product launch packages. 
•    Provide technical expertise/guidance and support to Sales and Marketing teams.
•    Delivering substantial technical input in cross-functional market segment teams to drive new product developments that meet market needs at agreed timelines.
•    Develop sufficient technical options to successfully deliver on projects 
•    Providing foresight thinking in planning and organizing technical aspects of projects, and perform against agreed stage gate deliverables.
•    Represent the organization in forums and conferences within specific area of application expertise

Required skills and experience
Qualifications

•    Master’s degree in Scientific Field required, knowledge of polymer chemistry a plus, or equivalent technical experience accepted. 
•    5+ years of application formulation required with preferred experience in amino and/or phenolic crosslinkers.
•    Excellent communication skills in customer interaction.  Demonstrated success in understanding customer issues, developing appropriate solutions, and communicating solutions both internally and with customers.
•    Hands-on experiences of working in laboratory environment for formulation preparation, material characterizations, coating application and comparative benchmarking
•    Proficiency in experimental planning, data analysis, record keeping and clear reporting of results
•    Experience in non-coating applications containing amino and/or phenolic crosslinkers, such as rubbers, tires, composites, encapsulates or batteries is a plus

•    Safety – ability to carry out lab experiments in a safe way by adhering to allnex lab safety standards 
•    Team player - ability to collaborate with broad team to drive results; win through influence.
•    Communication - ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing to a diverse audience in an understandable fashion; 
•    Independent Worker- Lab formulation & project development skills, fast learner, action oriented with “can do” attitude
•    Project management skills with demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-disciplined projects through commercialization.
•    Sound analytical and conceptual thinking to provide quick investigation and root cause development to process & project issues.
