Internship Details

Compensation: Starts at $17.50hr - depending on qualification & experience
Project Duration: Up to 12 weeks (between late May - Mid August)
Hours/Week: Up to 40 hours

Position overview

Are you a student looking for an exciting internship opportunity to kick start your career in a global leading chemical company? We are looking for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team. As a Safety, Health and Environment Intern you will be a part of our team, working to provide assistance and support in the day-to day tasks as well as gain insights and understanding of the full cycle of our safety process.

Responsibilities

Assist in conducting monthly trainings
Conduct noise monitoring and other misc. industrial hygiene activities
Assist in retrieving SDSs for chemicals used onsite
Environmental sampling for production intermediates.
Assist in contractor safety program management
Conduct audits and surveys as directed by the SHE staff
Assist with SHE- related clerical work
Research and purchase SHE- related items
Statistical analysis of data
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Currently working on a degree in the engineering, science (microbiology/chemistry preferred) or safety field.

Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting up to ten lbs.
Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
Contact with water or other liquids; or exposure to non-weather related humid conditions.
Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary.
Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding, operating analytical instrumentation and other repetitive tasks.
