Position overview
Are you passionate about driving global growth and innovation in the cell space from chemicals industry? allnex invites you to be our dynamic leader as a Business Development & Marketing Manager in Shanghai, China to take charge of our business development and marketing efforts, helping us carve out a leading position in this fast-evolving market. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our global growth strategy, focusing on new business opportunities and expanding our footprint in attractive adjacent markets. You'll work hand-in-hand with our talented technical teams, leveraging their groundbreaking developments to propel our business forward.
Your mission? To ensure we stay ahead of the curve in the cell/power source market by fostering innovation, optimizing commercial operations, and ultimately driving profitability. You'll collaborate closely with our R&D, marketing, commercial, and finance teams to bring our strategic vision to life and unlock new growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships.
- Create and implement a business strategy to grow our cell/power source materials market share.
- Gain deep insights into our markets, customers, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with the technical team to understand customer needs and turn them into product solutions.
- Guide the creation of technology plans and ensure new products and updates are delivered on time.
- Attend industry events to gather market insights, showcase our products, and discover new business opportunities.
- Lead the commercial strategy, focusing on pricing, distribution, and sales channels.
- Work closely with regional and local sales teams to ensure the strategy is consistently applied.
- Track and evaluate commercial performance, making adjustments as needed to meet revenue and profit goals.
- Build strong connections across internal teams and countries to ensure everyone is aligned and working together toward our cell/power source goals.
- Oversee partnerships with external groups, including universities, affiliated companies, and industry partners.
Required skills and experience
- Over 8 - 10 years of experience in senior-level marketing, business development or commercial roles.
- Experience in the cell/power source industry or related fields.
- Background working with global or international companies.
- Proven success in developing and implementing global business strategies.
- In-depth understanding of the cell/power source industry, including market dynamics and competition.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with clients and partners.
- Strong conceptual and strategic thinking, with a focus on vision and problem-solving.
- Excellent execution skills—results-oriented, organized, and efficient.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly disciplined.
- Strong analytical and financial expertise, with a knack for making data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or an equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
