IT Application Support Manager

Position overview

IT Application Support Manager manages internal team to ensure operational support of applications that are in the scope of the Global Services Application Support team. Managing projects to implement small changes and minor upgrades of the applications in scope is also part of the responsibility.As well, this role is responsible for Configuration Management Database and ensures that all sections of database are being maintained and are updated regularly. Successful candidate in this position would be accountable for relationships and escalation with external partners that are providing 3rd Level support for the applications in the applications in the scope of Global Services Application Support team.

  • Manages a team of subject matter experts (application administrators & dba’s)
  • Build strong relationship with external partners.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance of service providers against the contractual service performance criteria (SOL, SLA).
  • Manages projects of changes for the application in scope.
  • Monitor, report, analyze and escalate on day-to-day operational execution and on service alignment with agreed KPI's.
  • Ensures knowledge is transferred from the project team to the support team when changes are done in existing applications or a new application is implemented.
Required skills and experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or engineering direction with a major IT component - or equivalent by experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT Infrastructure & Operations environment
  • Proven experience with minimum 3 years as subject matter expert in application area
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in managing people in a non-hierarchical situation and/or as well hierarchical
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure & Application Architecture
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
