Procurement Freight Specialist

Position overview

Are you someone who is passionate about improving procurement processes? As a Procurement Freight Specialist, you will be responsible for cost controlling and cost allocation of Freight invoices. You will also be involved in handling all quote requests as well as maintaining the related systems.

If you possess good and proactive communication skills and also have knowledge of procurement process flows, we would like to speak with you!

Responsibilities

  • Invoice control (against price lists) of Freight invoices.
  • Book and allocate costs accurately for any sales orders.
  • Maintenance of freight prices in systems as provided by Indirect Procurement Transport and Warehousing.
  • Prepare freight management-related reports such as freight rating, auto-billing, and monthly accruals.
  • Freight rate and Freight route maintenance in the system.
  • Support procurement team in various business compliance-related tasks.
  • Identify and implement potential Procurement process improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with suppliers of freight services to request freight quotes and to solve invoice discrepancies.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of working experience in an International Business environment. Preferably Finance or Procurement role.
  • Language skills:
    • English is required at upper-intermediate: communicate competently and in a professional manner.
    • Other languages (Chinese, Malay, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese) are considered assets but not mandatory.
  • Computer skills:
    • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office) are required.
    • Knowledge of SAP ERP is added advantage.
    • Knowledge of Power BI and SAP BI/BO tools are considered as added advantages.
  • Other skills:
    • Has basic leadership skills and is able to take initiative.
    • Organized, accurate, and proactive.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Can work in an independent manner, as well as integrate well into a team.
    • Good resistance to stress.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
