Position overview

Experienced Manager to take on the responsibility of Waterborne Growth Opportunities for LRA North America Accounts. This is an office or home based position and will be reporting to LRA Americas Sales Director.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the NA Waterborne Customers Account’s competitive position in the market and their present, medium and long term Strategic Business Plan;
  • Understand in depth their Waterborne Resin needs, customer key buying criteria and sensitivity to changes;
  • Evaluate the attractiveness of the segments the Waterborne Customer is active in, based on profitability and growth;
  • Assess our competitive position (market share, cost position, technology, performance) at the Waterborne Accounts;
  • Lead joint development projects between the Waterborne Accounts and allnex;
  • Collate, validate key information (including competitive data) on the Key Waterborne Accounts and communicate throughout the LRA organization;
  • Formulate and own a comprehensive account plan that communicates how value will be created and all the actions planned to capture that value;
  • Monitor and report competitive threats, propose responses and agree on tactics as appropriate;
  • Gain understanding of the key decision makers and develop and maintain strong professional relationships with them;
  • Support new Product launches in partnership with Marketing and Technical Service teams, “Innovation” being a key word within Allnex Coating Resins;
  • Develop and grow the NA Waterborne market in the Wood, Decorative and Construction sub-segments.   Explore adjacencies for additional waterborne growth;
  • Global collaboration to identify next generation waterborne products;
  • Attend trade association meetings, technical conferences and trade shows to follow market and technical trends.   Respond quickly to changing marketing and sales needs;
  • Organize an active prospection in the defined geographical area in order to discover and develop new Accounts. Develop and promotes a close relationship with these customers and end-users;
  • Contributes to Market competitive intelligence (trends / competition / potentials);
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) contacts and activity reports;
  • Interact with customer service to obtain status on complaints, additional customer feedback and order process follow-ups.

Required skills and experience

  • 10+ years’ experience of which a significant part was in a Sales/Technical/ Marketing/Business Development role;
  • Experience working with waterborne acrylic emulsions and polyurethane dispersion is a must;
  • Expertise in promoting products in the wood, decorative and construction areas is preferred;
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills;
  • Strong execution skills;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Ability to get commitment and actions from people outside of span of direct control within LRA division;
  • Ability to take calculated risks in order to achieve specific goals;
  • Ability to build LRA senior management support;
  • Good financial awareness;
  • Customer focused and creative in approach;
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Able to prioritize actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Management, or related field in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering.
