Logistics Lead

Position overview

We are looking for an experienced colleague with strong communications and interpersonal skills to join our team as Warehouse and Logistics Lead. You will be responsible for planning and monitoring all warehouse and logistics activities in a chemical plant to ensure a cost effective flow of merchandise to enable the company to meet its business and profit guidelines. If you have a strong leadership and management skills, as well as good analytical and planning skills, then we are waiting for your application.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that there is sufficient inventory to meet the production’s needs.
  • Supervise logistics, warehouse, and transportation.
  • Enter data into the system to maintain up-to-date stock records; keep effective track of batches to guarantee FIFO and fast handling/location of stock.
  • Monitor warehouse activities both own warehouse and 3PL warehouse to ensure that raw material and finished goods are stored correctly, safely.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively; work schedules and targets are met.
  • Maintain  and implement 5S.
  • Implement cycle count, quarterly, six-month and annual stock check.
  • Supervise staff to ensure that all warehouse activities , machines and equipment operated safely.

Required skills and experience

  • Understands ERP concepts and the integration with respect to supply/demand functions.
  • 10 years of direct work experience in a warehouse and logistics management function or supply chain management position preferably in a manufacturing concern.
  • Good financial and business awareness.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • PC literacy for report generation and preparation: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership and management skills with proven track record.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business with focus on warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control or materials management in manufacturing environment.
  • Certification or experience in complying with dangerous goods regulations and hazardous materials storage.
