Join Our Team as Trade Compliance Lead APAC!

 

Are you passionate about trade compliance and eager to make a significant impact in the APAC region? We are seeking a dynamic Trade Compliance Lead to be the key regional point of contact for all inquiries related to the import, export, and transfer of goods and services, as well as trade regulations.
In this role, you will ensure that trade compliance activities are executed efficiently across various business functions. You will interpret and apply relevant customs, regulatory trade, and excise regulations, becoming an ambassador for best trade compliance practices in the region. As a subject matter expert, you will closely collaborate with peers and colleagues across other regions, reporting into Global Trade Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trade compliance guidance to allnex business function, including support for government audits, general advisory and facilitating issue resolution as well as conducting audits and follow-up on action plan within the APAC region.
  • Highlight and recognize best trade compliance practices, and develop strategies to expand their use within organization.
  • Initiate and orchestrate auditing of current trade compliance processes, in order to improve and excel those.
  • Develop and maintain an effective regional-based training programs to improve trade compliance competency in local sites, deliver presentations to increase awareness within the organization.
  • Manage data governance and integrity with regard to customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, valuation, and reporting of customs procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of changing export control laws and regulations and provide an analysis regarding applicability and impact to company products and technologies, existing company export policies and procedures.
  • Oversee origin and trade preference process: monitor the issuance of suppliers and customers declarations and make sure all necessary conditions are fulfilled.
  • Assist with assessing and maintaining allnex compliance with import/export regulations, trade regulatory and other legislation requirements (e.g., global sanctions).
  • Lead Trade Compliance plans, key initiative and standards in region. Develop strategies and engage regional/country leadership to align with the objectives of the global initiative.
  • Work close with internal & external IT partners & key stakeholders to ensure systems are at any time updated, upgraded & interfaced in accordance to Trade compliance requirements.

Required skills and experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in an organization dealing with global and international customs legislation and procedures, HS classification, rules of origin, customs valuation rules, export regulations and foreign trade agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of trade compliance and related regulatory laws and practices in APAC region.
  • Strong communication skills in English, business fluent.
  • Customer focus attitude, adaptability and process oriented mind-set.
  • Experience with managing compliance training for import, export, and other trade programs assist in establishing and creating a regional Supply Chain Security programs.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities and deliver results while working under pressure. High sense of ownership.
  • Analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to travel as it could be required by role responsibilities.
  • Knowledge on ERP systems, strong skills within MS-Office, specifically MS Excel.

Qualifications

  • Higher education, preferably in law, finance, logistics or other appropriate for the role.
