Technical Services & Business Development Manager

Position overview

Do you want to support our customers in their development activities and promote our innovative technologies? 

We are looking for someone who wants to be a valuable contributor and a member of a talented and dynamic team of industrial coating specialists.
The TS&BD manager is the technical point of contact for the customers and the distributors in his field of expertise. He is customer focused. He travels and participates in conference calls with customers. He drives the technical dialogue and provides required support to the sales organization. He is the technical link with customers for R&D and other support groups such as quality and logistics.
The TS&BD manager participates at the development of the market segment strategy. He understands market needs and translates those needs into new projects. 
He executes the business strategy while maintaining allnex leadership in products and applications support.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the customer action plan. He is the technical focus point for customers, Key accounts, distributors and agents.
  • Provide trainings when required in his area of expertise. 
  • Has a constructive relationship with sales in order to provide technical support on products, process and formulation know-how.
  • Make right products introduction and recommendations for allnex.
  • Has customer intimacy.
  • Participate in building competitive intelligence with Marketing and Sales.
  • Provide expertise in market segment teams (led by marketing) & participates to segment strategy.
  • Coordinate lab activities related to specific projects, customers or products.
  • Act as product champion for key NPI (New Product Introduction)
  • Support product launches.
  • Develop orientating formulations and sales tools including brochures and technical data’s for launch packages (with Marketing) to ensure successful introduction of defined products.
  • Ensure good internal and external reporting and communication

Required skills and experience

  • 5-10 years in paints & coatings or coating resins (R&D or Technical service), ideally complemented with commercial skills;
  • Experience with UV/EB curing technology;
  • Technical acumen in a dedicated market segment ;
  • Problem solver with customer focus mindset;
  • Good communicator, fluent in English;
  • Management skills is a must have;
  • Available to travel 35% of the time (North US region).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or other Chemical related degree.
