Position overview

allnex invites you to join our dynamic global regulatory affairs team in position of Regulatory Compliance Associate/Specialist in Shanghai, China. In this role, you will need to ensure, manage and control product regulatory compliance for allnex in China and support allnex customers establishing compliance with the regulations applicable to them. You are responsible for assessing products, notifying new substances and ensuring timely reporting to the Chinese authorities and work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager APAC to assess the impact of new Chinese regulations on the business and leads the implementation of these new regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct product regulatory assessments, including food contact applications, to help business colleagues make judgments about their marketing operations in the territory.
  • Coordinate the creation of new substance notifications or inventory update notifications for the designated territory.
  • Ensure compliance with local chemical control requirements, complete pre-importation and other exemption permit applications.
  • Assess the compliance of allnex products with Regional regulations & requirements in order to answer internal and external customer inquiries, with assistance of the Regional Manager for more difficult topics such as food contact.
  • Prepare and submit notifications or registrations dossiers to the authorities in order to enable the compliant marketing of allnex products in the Greater China.
  • Liaise with the local state and national authorities if necessary, upon authorization by the department management.
  • Support new product development by R&D by advising how to comply with the chemical control regulations.
  • Support all coatings Business Unit by responding to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Participate in managing, reporting and record-keeping requirements for chemical substances as regulated by various domestic chemical control regulations where applicable.
  • Assess the impact of new Regional regulations for our business and give input to PSRA management.
  • Lead and participate in project teams for setting up new processes and tools enabling us to comply with new regulations.
  • Manage the gatekeeper and other blocking process to release of orders on regulatory hold while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, update and maintain PSRA processes and systems ensuring compliance with new and existing Regional regulations.
  • Participate in or conduct training sessions for business groups within the company to promote regulatory compliance awareness where assigned.
  • Work in cooperation with the Global Hazard Communication team to ensure that all required HazCom documents for products are compliant with current Regional regulations. 

Required skills and experience

  • Proven practical working experience in Regulatory Compliance field and Chemicals industry.
  • Solid knowledge of Chinese Chemical Control Laws and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of chemistries in allnex products range, applications, policies, systems and personnel.
  • Good command of English and local languages.
  • Proficiency and excellent communication skills in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize daily work and exhibit time-management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Constant awareness of the sensitive nature of information and data being handled on a daily basis.
  • Strong team player and customer oriented.
  • Possess a drive and personal initiative to keep learning and improving in the chosen field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in terms of ability to deal with multiple priorities.
  • Able to create and improve process in order to manage new regulations in an efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry or equivalent qualifications with demonstrated working experience in the similar field.
