Position overview

Are you interested to extend global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships in the world leading coating resins industry? as a Technical Service Specialist – Additives you'll focus on expanding the global X-BU Additive business by identifying market opportunities and pursuing new leads. The incumbent will collaborate closely with business development managers, key accounts, and distribution partners, with a particular emphasis on providing exceptional technical service to customers in coatings and related segments. The goal is to integrate all Additive technologies (liquid, powder, radiation curing, crosslinkers) to drive growth in key markets.

Responsibilities

  • Drives business growth for all Additives regionally by gaining an in-depth understanding of allnex's additives portfolio regarding product performance, capabilities, compatibilities, and their usage in coating applications
  • Provide technical service and support to customers, Sales, Marketing, and Technology team(s) through direct, written (reports, papers, and presentations), telephone, or email communications.  Bring additional support through product recommendations and development to internal and external customers. 
  • Follow-up on specific technical questions and customer requests (including samples).  Follow-up may consist of planning and executing targeted lab testing or soliciting expertise from external customers. 
  • Understand and identify technology and markets through interactions with the customer, business, marketing, and technology teams to develop ideas/concepts to fill development pipelines and product profiles that meet the future identified segment needs. 

Required skills and experience

  • 2 up to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry(academic experience is also being considered) —preferred coating technologies: UV-curable resins, dispersants, acid catalysts, tires, oxidative driers, and alkyds are a plus.  
  • You must have practical, demonstrated experience and success in at least two areas: coating testing, formulation development, additives usages for coatings, and answering customers’ technical or scientific questions. 
  • Fluent English is required. 
  • Relocation to Alpharetta/GA required. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Science, Engineering or Technical Degree; 
  • MBA and Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science are preferred.
